Abstract:
Huainan coal (HN) was swollen by single-solvent such as pyridine (Py),tetrahydrofuran (THF) and CS
2.The pyrolytic properties of the swollen coal were systematically investigated by release rate and composition of the pyrolysis gas as well as the distribution of the pyrolysis products.Thermogravimetric analysis (TG) of HN and the swollen coal was also performed to probe into the pyrolysis characters. The results showed that the distribution of the products derived from the swollen coal pyrolysis was improved obviously. The pyrolysis gas volume and coal tar yield of the swollen coal were increased in different degrees, meanwhile, their pyrolysis water yields were all decreased in comparison with those of HN.The emission rates of pyrolysis gas with the swollen coal treated by CS
2 and THF were much higher than those of Py and HN.The coal tar yield of swollen coal treated by Py was the highest one of the 4 samples, which was 5.99% (mass fraction, dry and ash free basis of coal) higher than that of HN.The experimental results revealed that the existing interaction between solvents and coal, which could contribute to the increasing of pyrolysis coal tar yield.
