Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to explore methods for improving bonding strength of polymer composite to metal surface by acid pretreatment. SEM, AFM and RA-IR were employed to evaluate the variation of the physical-chemical character of treated and untreated 316 L stainless steel. Meanwhile, the alterations of wettability of different pretreatment methods were discussed via contact angle measument. The result show that proper HCL etching pretreatment is proposed as a good method for improving the surface chemistry property of 316 L stainless steel and the bonding strength of ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer to the metal surface.
