Abstract: A twin zero voltage switching PWM forward converter is presented. It is connected in series and coupled by a high-frequency transformer. The converter features no switching losses from zero-load to full-load operation and low conduction losses. It is suitable for high input voltage and high power applications. This paper presents its operation principles, theoretical analysis and a design example. The experimental results of a laboratory prototype confirm the theoretical inference and analysis.
