Abstract:
Based on Wagner polarization principle, the reversible electrode and the clogged electrode were applied to polarize the silver bromide tabular grain emulsion micro-crystals in direct current field. (After) the ionic current reached zero, the electric current was measured with vary voltage and then the electron conductivity and hole conductivity were determined. When doped with a shallow electron-trap dopant, the electron conductivity of the emulsions increased, while the hole conductivity decreased. The changes of the electron conductivity indicate the intrinsic factors of the fog formation of the silver bromide emulsions; the changes of the hole conductivity reveal the capture function of the ions on the holes.
