Abstract:
Abstract: By using rolling wear measuring apparatus, complied with ISO 9352, the rolling wear rates were measured with the surface temperature changing at the continuous rolling condition and the simulated abrasive wear rate of PTFE(Polytetrafluoroethylene) filled with different surfaces treated and different contents of MWCNTs at temperature of 16 ℃ and 32 ℃. Different surface treated MWCNTs/PTFE composite wear rate is smaller than that of neat PTFE, and MWCNTs / PTFE composite transfer film changed to a small area of dotted pattern and wear debris pattern also changed. By observing the wear debris, stereomicroscope and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the mechanism analysis of the rolling wear and simulated abrasive wear are carried out, and proposed that the microstructure is changed when PTFE filled with MWCNTs, which result in the wear property change.
