Abstract:
This paper proposes a modified body force method for analyzing interference effects of multiple arbitrary holes and cracks under complex loading. In comparison with the original body force method, the definition of body force density is modified; local coordinates with respect to the center of each element are introduced and all the stress influence coefficients are obtained in closed form, Thus not ohly the computation efficiency and precision are improved, but also the application of the body force method is made more convenient and effective,The examples giveh in the paper show that the modified body force method proves excellent in higher precision and faster convergence when the interference effects of multiple arbitrary holes and cracks under complex loading are analyzed.
