Abstract: Four coumarin derivatives of lasing dyes were synthesized. Two of them which are substituted by trifluoromethyl have good lasing properties. The solvent effects on the absorption and fluorescent spectra of two dyes in organic solvents have been studied with Nicol and Liptay theory. The expected linear relationship between the wavelength and the solvent parameters was obtained.
