Abstract:
Copolymers of 5-methyl-5-benzyloxycarbonate-1,3-dioxan-2-one and L-lactide were successfully synthesized by ringopening polymerization. The mechanical property, crystallinity, degradation property in vitro and biocompatibility of the synthesized material were studied. The results indicate that high potential applications of the copolymer with better mechanical property, lower crystallinity and higher degradation speed are achieved. The synthesized material keeps almost the same outstanding cell biocompatibility as PLLA.
