Abstract:
A Nibased catalyst and a Mobased catalyst were selected for the hydroconversion of organic sulfur in hot coal gas. By using the comparison test, the reactivity of Nibased catalyst is higher than Mobased catalyst. It is found that the loss of sulfur in sulfurized catalyst for both catalysts will be observed when sulfur content in inlet gas is lower than 0.1%, however, the sulfur content in practical coal gas is enough to avoid the phenomenon. The Nibased catalyst is a commercial hydroconversion catalyst of organic sulfur and it can be used effectively for the hydroconversion of organic sulfur in hot coal gas. Higher conversion (>80%) of organic sulfur is attained at simulated cleaning up conditions for hot coal gas.
