Abstract:
With a hydrophobic cavity and hydrophilic outside, cyclodextrins can form complex with hydrophobic guest being of suitable size based on the hostguest interactions. Their cavity acts as a catalysis activated site. The intermolecular interactions between the hydroxyl groups of cyclodextrin and substrates assist the catalysis of reaction. The research development of catalysts based on cyclodextrin inclusive association was reviewed and the applications of cyclodextrin and modified cyclodextrin in organic reactions and polymerizations were introduced.
