Abstract:
Intramolecular excitation energy transfer between isolated chromophores on the same molecule in recent years has been reviewed. Many multi chromophoric organic dyes with covalent linkage between the chromophores, one of which can act as a triplet acceptor of the excess energy, have been synthesized and studied. The significant increases in photostability of such assembled dyes have been reported. This is effective way to design new dyes with higher photo stability due that some chromophores can act as internal photostabilizers.
