Abstract:
A 50mm diameter cylindrical apparatus was used to investigate the effects of oper-ating and geometric parameters on the hydrodynamics of spout-fluid bed with a draft tube at am-bient temperature. It was found that the solid circulation rate ,fountain height and bed pressure drop were all significantly influenced by the bypassing characteristics of the spouting gas. The in-troduction of fluidizing gas is helpful to decrease such bypassing and thus inereases the solid cir-rculation rate. The eff cts of draft tube location and solid particle loading on the bed hydrody-namies are discussed. By regressing experimental data, the correlations used to calculate solid cir-rculation rata and fountain height are obtained.
