Abstract:
This paper uses the radial temperature profile method and two dimensional pseudohomogeneous model to calculate the heat transfer parameters in fixed bed packed with spherical and hollow cylindrical catalyst used for ethylene acetoxidation to vinyl acetate. For the purpose of investigation on the effect of dimension of catalyst on heat transfer hollow cylindrical catalyst divided into eight is compared. The mass flow rate covers the operating range in the industrial reactor. The treatment of experimental data is on the basis of orthogonal collocation, the correlations between the radial effective conductivity, the wall heat transfer coefficient of two dimension model and the wall heat transfer coefficient of one dimensional model and particle Reynolds number are obtained respectively.
