Abstract:
The use of peroxo phosphotungstate PO_4W(O)(O_2)_2_4~(3-) in conjunction with hydrogen peroxide as the primary oxidant in an aqueous/organic biphase system provides an efficient catalytic method for dicyclopentadiene epoxidation. Effects of different quaternary ammonium tetrakis (diperoxotungsto) phosphates (3-), solvent, reaction temperature, the amount of the catalyst, the concentration of hydrogen peroxide on the yield of dicyclopentadiene diepoxide were investigated. As a result, best (reaction) conditions for the preparation of dicyclopentadiene diepoxide are found. Besides, the recovery of the catalyst has also been investigated.
