Abstract:
To examine the effect of nodosin extracted from Isodon serra on heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) in SD rat hepar in vitro, the isolated liver was perfused by Nodosin solution (10 μg/mL), while lactic Ringer's solution was used as control. Changes in the expression of HO-1 both in the mRNA and protein at 0, 1,2 h after perfusion by Western bloting and RT-PCR were examined. Results show that the expression of HO-1 both in the mRNA and protein is higher in perfused group than that in control, suggesting that Nodosin could induce HO-1 overexpression in isolated SD rat liver and protect hepar tissue by alleviating ischemia incurred by reperfusion.
