Abstract:
By means of comprehensive measures including TEM, ESR, thermal expansion coefficient and mechanical strength, the effects of LAS glass-ceramics on microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminium titanate ceramics were investigated. The results show that bending strength and Young's modulus of the ceramics increase with the reduction of apparent porosity by liquid sintering of glass phase. Microcrystallization from the glass-ceramics with low thermal expansion is responsible for low thermal expansion coefficient of the ceramics.
