Abstract:
Macroreticular weak-acid cation exchange resin DK 110 and the conventional gel-ty-
pe strong-acid resin 732 were used for the extraction of Gentamycin from fermentation
broth, their sorption capacities and elution properties were compared, Some technological
conditions of extraction by DK 110 were studied, including the broth pretreatment, dimi-
nution of the ash content, removal of colored materials, non-active minor components etc.
Experimental results have shown that the DK 110 resin has the following advantages over
the 732 resin: the overall yield of Gentamycin is 6% and exchange capacity 50% higher,
production cycle shortened by one third, the elution peak higher and more concentrated
and the removal of impurities from the resin easier. Therefore the DK 110 resin can be
used to replace the 732 resin for the extraction of Gentamycin from the broth.
