    氢氧化镁阻燃剂的制备及其应用

    Preparation and Application of Magnesium Hydroxide as Flame Retardant

    • 摘要: 以六水合氯化镁(MgCl2·6H2O)和氢氧化钠(NaOH)为原料,硬脂酸为改性剂,采用“一步法”制备改性氢氧化镁阻燃剂,研究了反应温度、反应时间和陈化时间对其活化指数和吸油率的影响;采用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、X射线衍射仪(XRD)、激光粒度仪(LPSA)和热重分析仪(TGA)对其特性进行了表征,并在聚丙烯(PP)中进行了初步应用研究。结果显示其最佳制备工艺为:在反应温度80 ℃、反应时间90 min、陈化时间90 min下,制得的改性氢氧化镁阻燃剂分散性高,与聚丙烯(PP)的相容性好,其填充量为50%的PP混合物的热学性能优良,氧指数达到28.5,垂直燃烧等级为V 0级。

       

      Abstract: Modified magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) particles as flame retardant were prepared by one step method using magnesium chloride hexahydrate (MgCl2·6H2O) and sodium hydroxide as raw materials and stearic acid as modification agent. The influences of reaction temperature, reaction time and sedimentation time on activation index and oil absorption ratio were explored. They were characterized by means of SEM, XRD, LPSA and TGA, and applied initially in polypropylene (PP). The results showed that the best technological conditions were: reaction temperature 80 ℃, reaction time 90 min, sedimentation time 90 min. The obtained magnesium hydroxide particles showed good dispersibility and compatibility with PP. The PP sample with 50% magnesium hydroxide showed excellent flame retardant property with the limited oxygen index (LOI) of 28.5 and UL94 retardant degree of V 0.
