Abstract:
An improved method, which can synthesize a flexible Heat Exchanger Network (HEN) with fouling growth, is presented in this paper. First, the structure of HEN based on pseudo T H diagram approach at the maximum fouling thermal resistance is simplified with cost decreasing under given constraint conditions of heat transfer. This can be obtained by using one variable function in Excel. Then the over synthesis area of heat transfer is optimized by using parallelized GA/SA(Genetic/Simulated Annealing Algorithms). This method can save the cost and the computation time is cut significantly by reducing the calculated amount, comparing with former works. An example is solved to illustrate the validity and advantages of the method proposed.
