Abstract:
The positive charges surface of the modified silica sols were determined by electrophoresis after adding basic aluminum chloride solution into the various size silica sols. The adsorption of the hydrate alumina on the silica sols were analysed by EDS and FT IR. The various size modified silica sols behaved the Newtonian fluids and the approximate viscosity. The dispersion of the modified silica sols and PU E also behaved the Newtonian flow. The increase of viscosity illustrated that the adsorption of the PU E onto the modified silica spheres was not occured, meanwhile, the over coverage of the hydrate alumina with positive charges on the modified silica spheres was identified.
