    Studies on the New Method for Synthesizing Vinyl Ester Resin and Its Properties

    • 摘要: 由2,2-(4,4′-二羟乙基酚基)丙烷与甲基丙烯酸等不饱和酸的酯化产物溶解于苯乙烯中,制成了能室温固化、常压成型的BEM-3型乙烯基酯树酯。分析和探讨了树脂的结构,测定了固化树脂及玻璃钢的性能。结果表明,采用的新合成方法是成功的。该法不仅简化了生产工艺,降低了成本,开辟了合成乙烯基酯树脂的新途径,同时也提高了树脂的耐热和耐腐蚀性能。

       

      Abstract: Vinyl ester resin, BEM-3, is synthesized by reacting 2,2'(4, 4'-dihydtoxyethyl phenol) propane with unsaturated acid, such as methacrylic acid. Then the linear chain polymer formed is disolved in styrene. BEM-3 can be cured at room temperature and moulded without pressure. Analysing the structure of BEM-3, and determining the properties of cured BEM-3 and its glass reinforced plastics, these results show that the new method is successful. This method is not only simplifying the process, decreasing cost, developing a new way to synthesize vinyl ester resin, but also increasing the heat and corrosion resistance of the resin.
