Abstract:
The prepared liquid crystal glass capillary columns are used for the separation of the four coal tar fractions anthracene oil, washing oil, phenol oil and light oil. Before the glass capillary columns are coated with different liquid crystals by using static coating technique, the columns are pretreated by barium carbonate deposit method. It has been found that better results can be obtained by using BBBT and EPMB columns for separating the anthracene oil and washing oil respectively. MPBOB column is used for separating phenol and light oil The separated components of each fraction are 140, 100, 50, 40 and are eluted in 40, 30, 18, 12 minutes respectively. The components of each fraction are identified by using GC-MS and standard components.
