Abstract: A series of eighteen 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic diimides were investigated. They were prepared by reacting 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride with appropriate alkyl or aryl amines or diamine in quinoline,aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid containing of pyridine or aqueous solution of amines. Bisbenzimidazole perylene are obtained as mixtures of two isomers(cis and trans).In particular,N,N'-methyl substituted phenyl 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic diimides have completely been studied.Their structure were identified by elementary analysis, IR spectrum and other methods.In this paper,synthetic method,IR spectrum and structure analysis about perylene compound were deeply dis cussed.
