Abstract: This paper addresses semantic Web based approach for data integration. To improve its expressivity, the semantic web ontology language is extended by a rule-based system. Semantic Web technique is systematically applied to various aspects of an ontologybased data integration system, including data extraction, ontology building, ontology mapping, data query, and data persistence. Finally, a case study is presented to show the feasibility of this proposed method.
