Abstract: The synthesis of four compounds, viz., ar-turmerone, (-)-isopropyl phellandrene, (-)-ethoxy carbonyl phellandrene and methoxy ar-turmerone, and the identification of their chemical structures are described. The preliminary pharmacological test data indicate that the antifertility effect of ar-turmerone is unsatisfactory and (-)-isopropyl phellandrene is antifertilely effective to a certain extent. The antifertility effect of (-)-ethoxy carbonyl phellandrene and methoxy ar-turmerone is being assayed.As far as authors know, the compounds of (-)-isopropyl phellandrene, (-)-ethoxy carbonyl phellandrene and methoxy ar-turmerone have not been reported in the literature.
