Abstract: In this paper, polymethylsiloxane adhesives were made from trimethyl chlorosilane , ethylorthosilicate and octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane. The adhesives have high peeling adhesion, outstanding heat and electric resistance. So, the mica and glass cloth tape composite that are consistent with GB 12666.6 90B or IEC331 were prepared by using the adhesives, and which was used in the manufacture of a variety of fire proof cables. Additionally, the structure, material and application of the tapes were discussed in detail.
