Abstract:
Microencapsulated ammonium polyphosphate(MCAPP) was synthesized by
in-situ polymerization with melamine-formaldehyde (MF) resin as wall material. The MCAPP and polylactide(PLA) flame retardant blends were prepared via internal mixing. The effect of different MCAPP encapsulation ratios on the morphology, processability, thermal properties, mechanical properties and flame retardancy of the blends were studied. When the mass fraction of MF resin addition is 17.2% in the
in-situ polymerization, the blend's MCAPP encapsulation ratio reaches 13.2%.This blend has the best flame retardant effect, the lowest degree of degradation and an increased degree of crystallinity of PLA.LOI value of this blend is 39.4% and the UL-94 rating is raised to V0 level.
