Abstract:
Vibration of the mould of a roller-supporting horizontal centrifugal casting machine for furnace tubes strongly influences the final quality of the products, and the geometric errors of rollers and mould are the important source for mould rotor vibration. The primary goal of this research is to investigate the influence of geometric errors of rollers and mould on the vibration characteristics of a horizontal centrifugal casting machine.A model describing the geometric errors of rollers and mould is established by mechanics analysis. The approach to calculate the coordinates of contact points is introduced to determine the excited forces caused by the geometric errors.Using the transfer matrix method, vibration characteristics are calculated and analysed with the geometric errors of rollers and mould involved. The results reveal that the mould vibration characteristics are significantly influenced by the geometric errors of rollers and mould.
