Abstract:
The efficacy enhancing and toxicity reducing effect of Zhibai Dihuang Decoction in treating rats with membranous nephropathy (MN) with a large dose of glucocorticoids were studied, aiming at 45 SPF grade male SD rats aged 7 weeks, which were divided into control group (C), model group (MG) and Zhibai Dihuang Decoction group (ZDD), with 15 rats in each group. The MN model with steroid induced bone damage of rats was established with the cationic bovine serum albumin(C-BSA)and methylprednisolone sodium succinate (MPSS). 24 h Urinary protein, serum albumin (ALB), total protein (TP), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and the pathology of kidney and femoral head and its semiquantitative analysis were observed after the drug intervention for 4 weeks. Compared with these of the MG group, in the ZDD group, the levels of 24 h urine protein, serum TC and TG decreased significantly (
P<0. 01), the levels of serum TP and ALB increased significantly (
P<0. 01), the renal tissue was less damaged in pathology, the fluorescent staining of the immune complexes IgG and complement C3 was weaker, and the bone tissue was less damaged in pathology. Conclusion in the treatment with a large dose of glucocorticoids on rats with MN: ZDD may have the effect of alleviating proteinuria, regulating blood lipid metabolism, improving renal pathological changes and improving the steroid induced bone damage.
