Abstract:
Amphiphilic solid particles can be applied to stabilize oil-water emulsions as Pickering emulsifier.Pickering interfacial catalysts with dual function of catalysis and emulsification were synthesized by grafting sulfonic alkyl and alkyl chains on nanosilica.By adjusting the ratio and chain length of sulfonic propyl and alkyl, the amphiphilicities of modified nanosilicas were adjusted to emulsify dodecanol-glycerol nonaqueous biphasic system.Studies on Pickering emulsion stability indicate that this kind of organic-inorganic hybrid possesses an excellent emulsifying ability to dodecanol-glycerol system, and emulsion type and stability can be affected by the volume ratio of dodecanol to glycerol, water, salt and surfactant.
